Are You Supporting The ThinkGreen Program?
We never stop looking for new ways to raise funds to keep our programs available for our community. This one is bigger than that. The ThinkGreen Program takes on an environmental perspective, and can really make a world of difference. This program is more for our children and grandchildren when you consider that Canada’s landfills are full of inkjet and printer cartridges that often take up to 500 years to decay. We had to learn the hard way what batteries did in our landfills, lets be smarter with these just as toxic ink cartridges. Over 300 million empty printer cartridges are generated in North America each year. That’s 900-million pounds of waste per year that usually ends up in the landfill. Martha Willmore is spearheading this program for us, as part of Greentec International’s Environmental Program. They will pay us for returned cartridges as well as plant a tree for every 12 cartridges we collect. We all win with this program!
How you can help:
- Bring your used cartidges into WARM
- Take a box to your workplace and spread the word
